PERSONAL CONVEYANCE

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has granted an exception to the hours of service rules to allow drivers to use their commercial vehicles for running personal errands. Improper use of this exception can result in a false log violation, which may put the driver out of service for up to 10 hours and additional points levied against their Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) score.
